Calliope is an art and literary magazine dedicated to showcasing an inclusive range of artistic voices at Chapman University.
Our publication is dedicated to providing a space for artistic expression and serving as a reminder that art and literature are community-building pursuits.
We publish a new issue at the end of each semester.
We accept all genres of writing and any visual art that can be represented in print.

Last year, Calliope was submitted for the National Council of Teachers of English's "Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines" (REALM) award, and has recently received a grade of "Superior", the second-highest ranking possible.
The award was based on the Spring 2025 edition, which was edited by Laudan Noor Payne who graduated in 2025. Read the issue here now.
