BBQ Roster
Why - as a community club run by volunteers we are successful because of input and support from all of our Channel United family. The BBQ is a great way to support the club with a small commitment each season, and all money raised goes straight back into our kids playing soccer.
When - coaches/team managers please let us know via CUPS Coaches/Team Managers messenger chat group which date your team would like to nominate for:

How - simple done well:
Food is purchased by the committee and overseen by our Marketing Officer Ali
A simple BBQ cheat sheet provides all the information you need to cook, sell and clean up on the day
The BBQ runs from 08:00 - 12:30 (approximately - dependent on last rostered game time- this can be checked on the Dribl website) on Saturdays and requires two people to run it
Each team nominates for one Saturday per season - the team manager then organises a roster amongst the parents to cover the 4 or so hours in shifts.
The schedule is decided by the team as long as there are always 2 people at the BBQ.
FAQs?
What's in it for me? Contribution to the club, a minimal time commitment each season, reduced costs for your child playing soccer, a BBQ available for your breakfast or lunch when you're playing, and helping to build a real sense of community in our club
Where is the BBQ? Everything is setup in our Clubrooms at Margate Oval
How is the food organised? The committee purchase and supply all the food ready for your day
How do we access the Clubrooms? The clubrooms will either be opened and closed by a committee member, or we are currently finalising a lock box procedure. This will involve contacting a committee member on the day for the PIN (we will confirm with you if this is the case prior to your rostered duty). Thank you for your patience while we work through the best process for this.
What if some teams don't volunteer? We feel that all clubs will appreciate their role in making our club great and be happy to commit to only 4 hours each season to share amongst their parent group. Realistically each parent would only need to run the BBQ once per year or less.
What if no one volunteers? Unfortunately the committee is not able to run the BBQ throughout the season due to the required time and only having six committee members. If there teams don't volunteer the BBQ will not run.
