Divay Chandra, MD, MSc, is a physician-scientist dedicated to advancing our understanding of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). His research integrates epidemiology, translational studies, and molecular biology to uncover the genetic and cellular mechanisms driving COPD, with the goal of developing innovative therapeutics.
Dr. Chandra’s work has been published in top-tier medical journals, including JAMA, the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, and Annals of Internal Medicine. His research has been cited over 4,000 times and is supported by NIH R-series grants and foundation funding.
Beyond his research, Dr. Chandra plays an active role in shaping national pulmonary science and policy through leadership in the American Thoracic Society (ATS), where he contributes to programming and mentorship initiatives. He is deeply committed to translating scientific discoveries into clinical impact and mentoring the next generation of investigators in lung disease, ultimately working to improve outcomes for individuals with COPD.
