Pre-Audition Script Read for Copenhagen
Wednesday August 12, 2026 6:30pm-9pm at UUCA
Curious about the play Chalice is producing this fall? Considering serving on a panel or auditioning for the show? You are warmly invited to join us for an informal pre-audition read of the script to get introduced to the play. All are welcome. NOTE: this will not be rehearsed or staged, and everyone will be invited (but not required) to take turns reading the script aloud.
Subject matter experts:
Do you work or have you worked in or with physics, WW2 history, nuclear or quantum theory, national security, military weapons and strategy, or political resistance? Chalice Theatre will be hosting roundtable panel discussions on topics that are raised in the play Copenhagen in conjunction with the performances in November.
Panel Topic A: Science and Morality
What are a scientist's moral obligations regarding how their research is used?
Panel Topic B: Patriotism: It's Complicated
How does one balance loving one's own country with believing it is in the wrong?
If you would be willing to speak on a panel-- or you know someone who might be-- please reach out to D. Ohlandt at <profohlandt@gmail.com>.
High School students:
Chalice Theatre is looking for a few more high school students (9th-12th grade) to take the lead on technical, production, and artistic processes for the adults-only cast of Copenhagen. Teens will work with director D. Ohlandt and adult mentors in their specific area. Interested in props management, makeup/hair design, or house management? Reach out to D at <profohlandt@gmail.com>.
Adult performers:
Auditions for Copenhagen will take place August 25 and 29, with callbacks on September 1. Click here for details and to sign up! All three roles are for adults, and all three performers are onstage for the entirety of the full-length play. Adults interested in auditioning are welcome (but not required!) to join us for the interest meetings and script reads.
Character descriptions can be found here.
Chalice Theatre is always looking for:
historians and literary people who are interested in learning production dramaturgy
production interns to assist and learn how to get a show off the ground
backstage crew members
stage manager interns to learn how to run a show
construction and painting crews
covenant groups or other small groups in the church who want to plan and run concessions for one or more of the shows
Nothing here for you but you have another idea? We love it. Send us an email at chalicetheatre25@gmail.com
