May 4. Manuscript revised and posted on Zenodo and resubmitted to another journal. We're not going back to the original one. The manuscript sat with the editor for over a month without being sent out and there are worse stories about that journal's processing times on social media.
Apr 28 We found an error in the community search figure in the Modeling Citations and Cartels preprint. We've notified the journal that we are withdrawing the manuscript. The error has been fixed and new figures are being generated along with corresponding modifications to the text. The original preprint is still available on Zenodo and Research Square.
Apr 25 Interactive visualizations of SASCA-ReS and SASCA-ReSA simulations.
Apr 22 Congratulations to Tandy Warnow for being elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Apr 21 Submitted a revised version of the SASCA-ReS manuscript to MetaRoR.
Apr 9. Kyle Enhzul (BS in CS @IL) will be working with us this summer under the aegis of the UIUC SRP.
Apr 9 With regret, I note the untimely passing of Pierre Miasnikof who proposed interesting ideas on clusterability of networks.
Apr 7, Mukherji et al. (2026) submitted to SC26. "ParAGraph: Parallel Agent-Based Citation Graph Modeling" (pap1093s2). This is a collaboration with Ananth Grama's group.
Apr 03. Complex Networks and Springer Nature rumbled into action. 10.1007/978-3-032-16645-6_1
Apr 02. Research Square rumbled into action.
Mar 30. Just submitted Park et al. (2026) Modeling citations and cartels. A preprint was submitted to Research Square as part of the journal submission but it hasn't gone public yet on account of what seems to be a slow and clumsy process so I've also made a copy available on Zenodo.
Mar 26. Live on MetaRoR http://bit.ly/3O3Sm9R
Mar 22. Rebuttal submitted and should appear along with our submission on the MetaRoR site. It's been a good experience, so far.
Mar 10. The reviews from MetaRoR came in. Constructively critical and fair and gave us some very useful ideas for a revision. First , we'll write a rebuttal. The original submission should be on the MetaRoR site in a few days along with the reviews (and eventually our rebuttal).
Jan 23, 2026 Finally! The first of three agent-based manuscripts is published (accepted Nov 2025 and available on the journal website today). Chacko et al. Applied Network Science 10.1007/s41109-025-00766-z
Dec 10 Minhyuk presented a summary of the PyABM, SASCA-s, and SASCA-ReS work in a talk at the 14th International Conference on Complex Networks and their Applications.
