You have already dealt with many chemical reactions, such the electrolysis of water. You have solved problems involving how much of one chemical will react with another, or how much of this can you get from that, and used balanced equations to help you solve those problems. You will be doing more of that in this lesson, particularly work with limiting reactant problems.
In the laboratory, you will apply the principles you have learned in the last few lessons to determine the composition of a compound, just as an early chemist might have done, as well as the concept of the limiting reactant, which you will learn in this lesson.
