When my father visited Southern California for the first time, one place he really wanted to visit was "Beautiful Downtown Burbank". Younger readers might not recognize the phrase which was first used on a television show, "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In," which premiered in 1968 on the NBC television network. NBC was then located in Burbank and Gary Owens who served as the announcer for it, coined the phrase from the beginning and my Dad listening in England was so enamored he wanted to visit. Burbank's actually a really interesting City with many distinct neighborhoods and a wonderful variety of properties and prices.
