Social programme and Fieldtrips
The symposium social programme will include a welcoming reception, and two field trips. The welcoming reception will take place at the Sociedade Portuguesa de Geografia (Portuguese Geographical Society, 1875), located in Lisbon's downtown — nearby Rossio square — at walking distance from the subway blue line (Restauradores station).

The first field trip (October 26), will be a late in the afternoon trip along Lisbon’s river front, during which participants will have the chance to understand the process of urban development and regeneration that took place in the area since 1998; the trip will end in the south bank of river Tagus for dinner.
The second one (October 28) will be a one day journey along the Western cost of Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra. The field trip will be an opportunity to visit some of the most impressive coastal landscape near Lisbon.
During the scientific programme all accompanying participants will have the chance to profit from the many activities — both indoors and outdoors — that Lisbon offers to visitors. Information will be provided on arrival.
