7. WITHDRAWAL and REFUND POLICIES

Once you have registered your child, we do NOT issue refunds, absent truly compelling circumstances.

WE ENCOURAGE KIDS NEVER TO DROP OUT, UNLESS THERE IS A REALLY GOOD REASON. IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT HAVING A GOOD TIME, PLEASE BRING THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF THE COMMISSIONER AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE, AND HE WILL TRY HARD TO HELP SET THINGS RIGHT.  If on any given day your child refuses to play with his or her assigned team but is willing to watch, then that counts as participation.  It is frequently the case that children who are shy or anxious about group activities need to acclimatize, and that can mean just watching, or playing here and there but mainly watching.  The key to success over time is simply to show up.

If your child consistently refuses to participate, or if you decide that your child has other obligations or priorities, then please notify us by e-mail ASAP (whether or not you need advice).

At that point there is the following choice to make:

• For those who are sure that their child will continue to refuse to participate and who are thus planning on having the child not attend, we can take him or her off of the roster. (The Commissioner can then offer the space on the team to another child who is waiting to enroll or who wishes to transfer to that team.)

• For those who doubt that their child will participate, but who nonetheless plan to bring the child to Microsoccer most weeks, we can keep the child on the roster but may add an extra player to the team, if it needs more strength.

• If registered children —or the adults bringing them to Microsoccer —cannot or will not comply with any applicable rules of the program, and/or any Covid-19 related or other health mandates of the State, the City of Cambridge or the federal government, they will be dismissed from the program and no refunds or credits will issue.

8. CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

(A) Prior to your child's participation in the program, you must receive confirmation of registration.  This may come in the form of an e-mail from Microsoccer or in a signed registration form approved by the Commissioner on the field.

(B) Every year, some parents show up and mistakenly claim — with great certitude — that they (or their spouse) have already registered their child. To reduce the chances of unnecessary acrimony on this point, we now ask all families to bring a printout of any e-mail registration confirmation that they have (or any other documentary proof that all aspects of registration have taken place).

(C) If you are uncertain whether your child's registration has been completed, please send an e-mail inquiry to Registrar@Microsoccer.org. If you have not received an e-mail confirmation but the registrar can confirm that you are registered, then the Commissioner will send you a special Confirmation of Registration.

9. Session Assignments and Placement Requests

*** ALERT REGARDING PLACEMENT REQUESTS *** If you are requesting that your child be on the same team as another child or coach, please be aware of the following:

(a) Once the season has begun and teams have been formed it can be VERY difficult to honor any requests.

(b) When possible, we try to at least match your child with one (1) other child or coach. Do not make requests like "all my teammates from last season" as such a request is over-broad and not specific enough without requiring the registrar to do a lot of research. It is ok to make requests like the following: "please put my child with Sam Smith or Jenny Jones or Albert Alewife" (note the use of "or" rather than "and").

(c) The child or coach you are requesting must also be registered at the time that teams are being formed in order for a request to be considered. So please check with the relevant families if matching their kids with yours is important.

(d) The child or coach you are requesting must be in the same session (assuming there are two sessions).

(e) when identifying a child, please make sure that you are using the child's correct last name. I.e. don't accidentally put in your own name or that of any other children that you have.

Please note that this year, because of the ongoing issues relating to Covid-19, everything is subject to change, sometimes with little or no prior notice.
