In recent years, the first day of CET is reserved for New Employee Orientation (NEO) and the NC Soil and Water Conservation Commission Meetings. In 2024, we are shaking it up a bit! This year, we will be offering a Mentoring Event after the NEO program. This event is designed for early career employees, within their first few years, the opportunity to speak with leaders in the NC conservation space. This will be a casual event with the primary goal of connecting with other conservations and learning through storytelling. We ask that participate register for this free event in advance of the CET.
Who doesn't love a delicious breakfast with great company? Join us for this networking breakfast to connect with district staff from across the state. This meal is included in your registration ticket.
This year, we will have a resource fair and networking event after the afternoon concurrent presentations. This is a chance to have some snacks, mingle with colleagues, and visit booths, ask questions, and learn more about what's happening in the partnership with a game of bingo!
This year, the DEA will host its annual cookout at The Wheelhouse in Atlantic Beach, NC. This location is a prime spot and across the street from the Double Tree Hilton Atlantic Beach. Come enjoy the beautiful outdoors while listening to live music from Ty Fleming's band, tasting some delicious local foods, socializing, and visiting a beloved local taproom! Please note the following items:
Bring a lawn chair (if you are not comfortable with standing for long periods of time and/or to sit down and eat).
Bring cash for the outside cash bar (beer and wine). Inside bar will take credit cards (mixed drinks, wine, beer, etc.).
Wear your conference name tag. Entry will not be permitted without it.
Join us for a loving evening where we gather together and unwind from the CET. This is a casual to business casual event with a short update from DEA Leadership.
Pro-tip: Make sure to bring pocketbook. You will not want to miss out on the auction items!
Not ready to go home? We've got you covered. We are planning some additional field trips for partiicpants to enjoy the beach before heading home. Stay tuned for more details.
