The Chemical and Oil & Gas Engineering Students’ Society (CESS) at the University of Calgary is a student run initiative that aims to represent and support students academically, prepare them for post-university careers, and ensure that they are keeping up with innovations and changes in the industry.
CESS aims to diversify student life and education by ensuring students are learning outside of the classroom through events such as industry mixers, tours, and lunch & learns. CESS is also proud represent the Schulich School of Engineering at the annual Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference and the World Congress of Chemical Engineering.
CESS is the University of Calgary undergraduate student chapter for the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering (CSChE) and Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), and collaborates with the student chapter the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).

CESS aims to enhance the undergraduate experience and provide professional development for students enrolled in the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department through various academic and social activities and initiatives.
