The DGET project was a FP6 funded award to develop Data-Grid Environment and Tools for Distributed Management and Analysis of Large Sets of Scientific Data. One significant output was the Feicim Browser that allowed physicists to identify and select their data from Petabytes of data stored around the world. This is the structure and organisation used by the LHCb experiment at CERN.
