Construction:
This bowl was made using the pinch-pot technique. I attempted to evenly pinch the clay until it created a bowl shape.
This is a bowl for my mom. It is a pinch pot. The flowers are made with different colors of underglaze. There is a clear glaze on top. Something I want to improve on next time is to made sure my pinching is more even throughout the process. At the top, there are sides where it is a little bit taller than the other. I like how lightweight the bowl is, aswell as the thickness. I think next time it would be good to test, and go a bit thinner.
These are coasters for a friend. Their favorite color is purple, so I used the purple jungle gems glaze. It ended up not having the big effect that I wanted it to. For construction, I need to lead something on top of it to dry. This will prevent warping, since they are coasters, they need to actually be flat. Other than that, I like the shape, and the edges are smooth. Maybe next time, as a challenge I will create feet or something like that to allow them to stack better.
Bowl for my dad, inspired by Portuguese sardines. Made from a pinch pot. I want to remake this because I love drawing from things from my culture. I think next time I would add more sardines. I want to put more time into working on projects instead of just rushing, it makes me love my pieces more.
