This was a planter I made for my mom. It has a hole in the bottom so that water can filter out of it. I wish I had picked a more exciting glaze. The glaze that I used was the BLICK glaze in the color green. I wish that I had picked something more exciting because the piece is very simple and plain.

I once again wish that I had chosen a different glaze. I need to remember that simple pieces need fun glazes. I am always disappointed with a very simple glaze. This shade of green also looks a little bit funky.
A soap dish I made for my mom. I don't like the glaze again, but it's okay.
I actually really like this piece. I like the fun handles on it. I also like how I went with a more interesting glaze. I really adds to the piece. I do wish that I had gotten more crystals on the piece (from the jungle gems crystal glaze), but I did try to get more. I also really like the color.
This was when I was constructing it. I knew that the clay was too wet, so therefore I would need to wait a little while to let the clay dry. In other words, I needed to wait until the clay was leather-hard until I would be able to carve windows and shapes.
UNIT 4 - POEM RESPONSE
I created this house because I think that houses can be warm and fuzzy. My poem described a setting in which it was very cold outside, yet there were warm things in the midst of the cold. I chose to do a house, and cut out windows and a hole in the bottom of it - to place a candle. I wanted the house to look blue and cold, as if it had just been snowed on. Therefore the candle would be adding the warm light to the cold, blue house.
UNIT 4 - SMALL BUST
I ended up not liking the way this turned out. Instead I focused on my artist inspired piece. I just thought that I could do better than this. However, I ran out of time to finish it, and was working on other projects instead. I think for next time, I want to make it more life-like. While, yes, it can sort of look a little life-like, I think I would prefer something more into the romanticism realm. Because of this, I decided to discontinue this project, I will be working to get better to learn to make "realer" pieces that represent something.
