The Police Accountability Committee in CSO is one of the only organizations that fights against police brutality in East Los Angeles and Boyle Heights. We encourage advocacy for overall community control of police and to give power to Chicanxs community in East Los Angeles to decide on police matters. Our current campaign is to ban the Fort Apache logo, a logo that has a racist history at East Los Angeles Sheriff Station.
The Education Committee fights to promote and defend public education against privatization by the charter school industry that has targeted East Los Angeles and Boyle Heights.
Recently, the Committee successfully defeated a large construction project in Boyle Heights by KIPP Promesa charter school at 4th and Soto, the old Lincoln Hospital site.
The Immigration Committee fights for immigrant rights in Boyle Heights and East LA, focusing on education and action. We use grassroots tactics, such as barrio walks to educate the community on their rights, 'Know Your Rights' workshops, and protests to oppose deportations. CSO is a member of the Legalization for All Network, and we respond to national calls to action to advocate for immigrant rights.

On Feb. 4, a large crowd of protestors marched down Hill and 1st Street in L.A.A group identifying themselves as Centro Community Service Organization (CSO) posted video of a rally downtown on social media the same day.Trucks carrying people led the protestors to city hall before moving north on Spring Street.
On Thursday afternoon, approximately 200 individuals march from Mariachi Plaza in Boyle Heights to the Metropolitan Detention Center in downtown Los Angeles, calling for the protection of workers’ rights and the well-being of local communities.
