Comet Choir                                                    ***Open to any students, no audition, TA/Student Mentor Opportunity***

Open to ALL STUDENTS grades 9-12                                                           Course # 1149

This choir is for students who wish to have a full period of choir, enjoy singing, and working with others.  Students in this choir may have prior music experience, but that is not a requirement for the class. Performances include several major concerts at Central and some opportunities for community outreach.  ALL STUDENTS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN! You can do this choir AND other choirs too! Students in this choir also serve as peer mentors for the SPED and Cross Categorical Programs at CCHS. 

    CREDITS EARNED: 1 credit per year

Concert Choir                      ***Ideal for ALL students, no audition***

Open to ALL STUDENTS grades 9-12                                                               Course # 1142

This choir is for students who wish to have a full period of choir! Students in this choir usually have some past choir experience, but that is not a requirement for the class. Performances include several major concerts at Central and some opportunities for community outreach.  

    CREDITS EARNED: 1 credit per year

Tenor Bass Chorus (TB Chorus)           ***Ideal for ALL Tenor/Bass Voices– no audition***

Open to all tenor/bass voices 9-12                                                   Course # 1106

This choir meets during the lunch periods to give students who do not have a chance to sing in another choir or who want to sing in more than one choir a chance to do so.  Each student spends 20-25 minutes in choir rehearsal, and 25-30 minutes in lunch.  ALL STUDENTS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN! You can do this choir AND other choirs too! Performances include several major concerts at Central.

    CREDITS EARNED: ½ credit per year

Soprano Alto Chorus (SA Chorus)           ***Ideal for ALL Soprano/Alto Voices – no audition***

Open to all soprano/alto voices 9-12                                                         Course # 1104

This choir meets during the lunch periods to give students who do not have a chance to sing in another choir or who want to sing in more than one choir a chance to do so.  Each student spends 20-25 minutes in choir rehearsal, and 25-30 minutes in lunch.  ALL STUDENTS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN! You can do this choir AND other choirs too! Performances include several major concerts at Central and Large Group Contest if the group elects to participate.

Chorale       ***This is an advanced course open to students by audition***

Open by audition to students grades 9-12                                             Course # 1143

This is an advanced ensemble open to students by audition only.  Students must have a great deal of interest in choral music and being part of a team.  Occasional after school rehearsals may be required for some events. Performances include several major concerts at Central, OMEA Contest, trips, honor choirs, choral festivals, and some community outreach.  

               CREDITS EARNED: 1 credit per year

Excelsior Show Choir         ***Ideal for All Students interested in singing and dancing by audition***

Open by audition to students grades 9-12                                               Course # 1150

Students must be enrolled in another choir in addition to show choir and be committed to being part of a team.  SA Chorus, TB Chorus, Comet Choir, or Concert Choir are all excellent options to pair with Show Choir.  Exceptions made with director approval under unique circumstances.  This ensemble meets during the school day and has after school rehearsals, usually on Mondays, to prepare for competitions.  Performances include several major concerts at Central, show choir contests/festivals, and some community outreach.  There is a required camp at Central at the end of the summer to learn show music and choreography. 

              CREDITS EARNED: 1 credit per year (2 years participation earns 1 PE Waiver)
