Central Library works in several sections as mentioned below:
Acquisition Section-
It deals with Book Purchasing. At the beginning of any academic year once the book vendors are fixed by the institution, Library acquisition section ask for books requirement from various faculties. After finalizing the budget in LAC meeting the said number of books are demanded, purchased and accessioned by this section of library
Classification Section-
Once the books are accessioned, needs to be classified subject wise for finding its proper location and avoiding misplace. Our library has adopted Colon classification scheme for classifying documents.
Circulation Section-
Library has separate book issue-return counter, morning session is for senior wing students and afternoon session is for junior wing. Post graduate students are allowed for open access. Wednesday and Saturday are reserved for students for general reading and open access.
Reference Section-
Reference service decides the quality of services rendered by Library personnel. For students our staff gives personal assistance for selection of proper book. Our notice board is always an attraction point for library users. Daily news highlights, Suvichar, Dinvishesh are favorite columns of students. We also display various job alerts. We also maintain files of CAS & SDI services, which include various reference articles, newspaper articles, clippings etc.
Reading Hall-
Our library has Three Separate reading hall for boys & girls. Timings are extended during exam period.
Stack Room- The main area of library collection is known as Library Stack Room. We have huge collection and library furniture in which books are arranged subject wise.
Periodical Section
We have subscribed to 75 National & International print Journals/ Magazines. We also have online database which has more than 15000+ online journals.
Digital Library Section
A separate digital library section is there in the reference hall, where 5 personal computers with all e resources are made available.
