Teaching is a professional exploration that builds teacher leadership and efficacy, including funding work in classrooms, researching work in classrooms, and sharing lessons learned through scholarly writing and presenting. Workshops in grant writing, writing for professional journals, conference proposal writing and presentation skills, refreshers on action research, and collaborative research opportunities are geared for teacher candidates and school personnel, as well as higher education faculty.

Aspiring authors and prospective authors are invited to attend the Center’s Professional Development Network Academy that focuses on writing for publication with a special invitation to write for Voices for Educational Equity. No experience necessary!
This online workshop will provide a forum for participants to discuss publication opportunities in Voices for Educational Equity, as well as other journals, with editor in chief, Jerry Berberet; publisher, Jan Fitzsimmons, and editorial board members, Erica R. Davila, Ava Belisele-Chatterjee, Becky Nelson, and Michael Dieter. Questions are encouraged!
Workshop objectives include:

Writing Books for Children With Author Gloria McDaniel-Hall
In this workshop, you'll explore initial steps to brainstorming ideas from your personal stories, writing, publishing and promoting a book you want to share with the children in your classroom. Dr. Hall will share her methods for writing, as well as one of the books she's written that is based on a lived experience. Additionally, Dr. Hall will discuss the entire writing process she used including creating an initial draft, deciding on the types of illustrations and even how to publish your text. Bring your ideas for books and your questions!
Participants will:
