My name is Christian Ennis and I am an assistant professor at Centenary College. I received my PhD in Mathematics at Louisiana State University in May 2025. During my PhD, I worked under the supervision of Padmanabhan Sundar. My research area is in stochastic analysis and probability theory. My current focus is on the probabilistic interpretation of kinetic gas equations, stochastic differential equation models, and undergraduate mathematics education.
Prior to LSU, I obtained my Mathematics B.S. at Southeastern Louisiana University. In addition to tutoring at Northshore Technical Community College, I did research projects under the guidance of Lisa Kuhn.
I was the coordinator of the LSU Math Circle Competition Team (MCCT), a team dedicated to preparing for the American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) and the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME). I led the team as main instructor with Jiten Ahuja acting as main administrator from March 2021 to August 2023. From 2023 until Spring 2025, I led the team on my own and acted as main administrator. My other work with youth includes being a mentor for the LSU Math Circle Summer Research program (2020 - 2022). Both programs were sponsored by Frank Neubrander.
I'm always interested in collaboration and opportunities for professional development. My email is cennis@centenary.edu. Here is a link to my CV.
