Aidapay serves as a comprehensive financial gateway, enabling users to seamlessly manage electricity, education, and cable subscription bills. Additionally, it offers the convenience of purchasing airtime and data bundles all within a single app.
The app has been in the market for 3 years and it was already doing well on its own. Although, over the last 3 years there were gathered feedbacks from users that required a redesign.
The focus of the Aidapay app redesign is to ensure a user-friendly navigation experience, with a clean and minimalistic dashboard design.

I interviewed 5 potential users to find out the challenges they face when using the Aidapay app. The interview participants were feeling overwhelmed with so many screens to navigate through, and left feeling confused because the dashboard is too busy.

People have expressed a desire to see more services in the bottom navigation bar for easy access.
Improving the dashboard is a top priority for many users, as they find it too complicated with too many screens.
Users have mentioned a preference for a cleaner, simpler design to enhance usability.
Some users have mentioned that a deposit with a + sign is confusing and could potentially lead them to think they are meant to click on it.
Many users have indicated that they struggle with onboarding and password reset processes, highlighting a need for clearer instructions or tutorials.
By analyzing my research findings, I created 2 personas who wil represent the target audience. These personas will guide my design decisions.
I picked two competitors that do similar things like Aidapay. This helped me see what they're doing right and what they're not. It also showed me some features Aidapay could offer to stand out. We also found out what Aidapay can do better.

I looked at how competitor apps like ours work, and used that to optimize Aidapay's app user flow even better. Now, it's simpler and easier for everyone to use!
I used the crazy eights ideation process to iterate sketches for the home screen and dashboard. My focus was specifically on the dashboard to allow users easily buy, airtime, data and withdraw money
Incorporating insights from user research, I strategically placed the most frequently used services, including the top three services, directly on the home screen for seamless access. The aim is to maintain a user-friendly and accessible home screen and dashboard without unnecessary complexity. This adjustment addresses a pain point identified during research that was hindering some users' experience.
I created a mid - fidelity prototype fo test the userflow of the Aidapay app with users and to see if they can buy airtime, data, electricity, cable subscription, convert points, deposit and make withdrawals easily.
I conducted usability testing using the mid - fidelity prototype. My findings were used to improve the high - fidelity designs for the Aidapay app.
I iterated based on the feedback that was collected from the Usability study.
The user research processes, findings and feedback led to the final mockup of the Aidapay app redesign.
