Ang Philtranco Service Enterprises, Inc, o mas naila sa tawag nga Philtranco, nagsugod sa pag-abli sa ruta sa Cebu niadtong tuig March 2001. Sumala ni Mr. Greknyfilipt Peromingan of Peromingan Archives, gibuksan ang mga rutang:

1.  Pasay/Cubao - Cebu (via Bicol/Palompon/Bogo)

2.  Davao - Cebu (via Surigao/Tacloban/Bogo)

3.  Cagayan De Oro - Cebu.

Nigamit sila ug 9 ka units sa FE6C SP215NSB para sa Mindanao Line samtang ang Manila line kay mga labing menos 10-15 units sa MAN 16.290.

Ang ilahang serbisyo sa Philtranco sa Cebu nikabat lang ug siyam ka buwan tungod sa pagkalugi. Ang pagdesisyon nila nga hunungon ang operasyon nisamot sa dihang ang usa sa ilang Manila line unit gisunog sa armadong mga grupo sa Catmon, Cebu niadtong Disyembre 2001.

Ang ilang pagserbisyo nila sa Cebu nagbilin ug usa ka nindot nga handumanan, ug mao ni ang pitik sa Philtranco bus 186 ug ang iconic Waterfront Hotel and Casino Cebu City sa background.
