"Without diagnostics, medicine is blind"
by Alain Merieux
[Our Vision]
At CDEL, our goal is to revolutionize disease diagnosis technology. Through the convergence of Biotechnology (BT), Nanotechnology (NT), and Information Technology (IT), we develop next-generation technologies that enable simple and rapid diagnoses. Our vision is to expand the horizons of advanced science and technology, ultimately contributing to a better healthcare environment for all.
Research for Real-World Solutions
Our laboratory focuses on tackling critical health challenges, including cancer, infectious diseases, and chronic illnesses. By developing highly accurate yet user-friendly systems to replace complex and expensive conventional diagnostic tools, we strive to significantly improve healthcare accessibility.
Interdisciplinary Convergence Research
We create innovative diagnostic platforms centered on nanobio technology. By fusing biomaterials and biotechnologies (nucleic acid amplification, CRISPR, aptamers, nucleic acid enzymes, antibodies, and nanobodies) with nanomaterials (polymers, hydrogels, and nanostructures), we integrate a wide array of advanced fields, including optics (fluorescence, colorimetry, and fluorescence polarization), semiconductors, and artificial intelligence.
From Bench to Bedside: Beyond Research to Commercialization
We develop Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) systems designed for seamless integration into hospitals and daily life. Going beyond publishing academic papers and securing patents, we actively pursue the commercialization of our research to ensure our findings make a tangible impact in actual clinical settings.
