By accessing this website or making a payment or donation through it, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

About CDC

The Centre for Development Communication (CDC) is a development communication organisation committed to advancing participatory, inclusive and people-centred communication for development.

Our work includes development communication training, research, consultancy, capacity development, knowledge production, advocacy, and related programmes and initiatives.

Use our website

You agree to use this website lawfully and responsibly.

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the website where we reasonably believe that these Terms & Conditions have been violated.

Payments for services and programmes

CDC may provide paid services and programmes, including but not limited to:

Prices, fees and applicable conditions will be communicated on the relevant programme, service or payment page.

By making a payment, you confirm that:

A payment confirmation does not, by itself, guarantee admission to a programme, appointment, consultancy engagement or other service where additional approval, selection or confirmation is required.

Payment processing

Payments made through the CDC website may be processed by Flutterwave or another authorised third-party payment service provider.

CDC does not directly store your complete debit card, credit card or other sensitive payment credentials on its website. Payment information may be processed by the relevant payment service provider in accordance with its own terms, privacy policies and security procedures.

You agree to provide accurate payment and contact information necessary to process your transaction.

CDC is not responsible for delays, failed transactions, bank charges, network interruptions or other circumstances arising from the systems of banks, card providers, payment processors or telecommunications providers.

Donations

CDC may accept voluntary donations through the website to support its development communication, research, capacity-building, advocacy and other mission-related activities.

All donations are voluntary.

Unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing, donations are treated as contributions towards CDC's general organisational activities and may be applied to areas of need consistent with CDC's mission.

Where a donor donates for a clearly identified programme, project or purpose, CDC will make reasonable efforts to apply the funds to that purpose. However, where circumstances change, or the identified activity becomes impracticable, CDC may redirect the funds to a substantially related purpose consistent with its mission.

CDC does not guarantee any particular outcome from a donation.

Refunds and cancellations

Refund eligibility depends on the nature of the payment.

Training and Programme Fees

Where a participant cancels their participation in a paid programme, refund eligibility will be determined according to the cancellation and refund terms communicated for that particular programme.

Where no specific refund policy has been published, CDC may consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis.

Where a programme is cancelled or substantially rescheduled by CDC, participants will be notified and, where applicable, offered an alternative arrangement or refund.

Consultancy and Professional Services

Payments for consultancy or professional services may be subject to separate contractual terms agreed between CDC and the client.

Donations

Donations are generally non-refundable once successfully processed. However, CDC may consider a refund where a donation was made in error, duplicated, or resulted from an unauthorised transaction, subject to verification.

Refund requests should be submitted promptly with sufficient information to enable CDC to identify and verify the transaction.

Transaction errors and unauthorised payments

If you believe that a payment has been made in error or without your authorisation, please contact CDC as soon as possible.

You may be asked to provide information such as:
