The Centre for Development Communication (CDC) team is a multidisciplinary group dedicated to promoting people-centred development through participatory, indigenous, and evidence-based communication that bridges the gap between communities and policymakers for sustainable social change.

Audu Liberty Oseni, PhD – Director & Member, Board of Trustees

Dr. Audu Liberty Oseni is a Development Communication authority, specializing in governance communication, climate action, and public accountability. He holds a PhD in Development Communication from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, where his research focused on Indigenous Communication Approaches for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation among rural farmers.

He also holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Communication from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. With over 16 years of professional experience across media and development sectors, he has worked extensively with NGOs and communication platforms in Nigeria.

He is the Founder of the Centre for Development Communication (CDC), established in 2019, aimed at advancing participatory communication, strengthening civic engagement, and promoting evidence-based public accountability. He is also the Founder and Publisher of West Africa Reporters and Co-Founder of the Centre for Accountability Reporting (CAR).

Dr. Oseni’s work focuses on empowering communities through inclusive communication, strengthening transparency, and advancing sustainable development through research, advocacy, and grassroots engagement.

Queen Nelly James – Communication Officer

Queen Nelly James is a Communication Officer at the Centre for Development Communication (CDC), Abuja, Nigeria. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), where she developed strong competencies in organizational communication, management, and strategic stakeholder engagement.

At CDC, she contributes to communication planning, content development, media engagement, and knowledge dissemination for development-focused programmes. Her work is grounded in people-centred communication approaches that emphasize participation, inclusion, and the amplification of community voices in development processes.

She brings an interdisciplinary perspective that bridges business administration and development communication practice, with a growing interest in how strategic communication can enhance governance, strengthen civic participation, and support sustainable development outcomes in Nigeria.

Queen Nelly James is committed to advancing the mission of CDC by promoting indigenous knowledge systems and using communication as a tool for empowerment, accountability, and social transformation.

Ogala George Onuche – Programmes Officer

Ogala George Onuche is a Programmes Officer at the Centre for Development Communication (CDC), Abuja, Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and International Studies from Kogi State University, Anyigba, and a Master’s degree in International Relations (Global Politics and International Law) from Nizhny Novgorod State University, Russia.

He brings diverse professional experience spanning research, media, education, and programme management, having worked as a Research Associate, Online Content Producer, and Programs Manager across international and Nigerian institutions. His background includes work in research support, content development, public communication, and community engagement.

At CDC, he contributes to programme coordination, research support, content strategy, and stakeholder engagement for development-focused initiatives. His work is grounded in participatory communication approaches that promote civic awareness, inclusion, and community-driven development.

Stanley Ojochogu – Monitoring & Evaluation and Research Officer

Stanley Ojochogu is a Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) and Research Officer at the Centre for Development Communication (CDC), Abuja, Nigeria. He is a graduate of Political Science from the Federal University Lokoja, where he developed strong analytical foundations in governance, public policy, and development studies.

At CDC, he supports research design, data collection, programme monitoring, and evaluation processes for development-focused initiatives. His work contributes to ensuring evidence-based planning, performance tracking, and impact assessment across CDC programmes.

Stanley brings a growing interest in how data-driven insights and participatory research can strengthen governance, improve accountability, and enhance development outcomes at the community level.

He is committed to advancing CDC’s mission of promoting evidence-based communication, strengthening institutional learning, and supporting sustainable development through rigorous monitoring and research practices.
