Mark Mautner, LMFT #106372, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Supervisor with a County Behavioral Health Forensic Unit. Mark has led Behavioral Health initiatives to integrate substance use disorder and mental health treatment to increase co-occurring capacity, as well as develop a peer support program to address secondary and vicarious trauma for staff members. Mark has an extensive history of community service. He has been a residential treatment counselor and supervisor for at-risk adolescents and a substance use counselor for adolescents in an outpatient treatment setting. Mark spent over 8 years as a Deputy Probation Officer developing and implementing rehabilitation programming for an evening reporting center, coordinating a cognitive behavioral group program for adults and juveniles, and working in the adult Drug Court.
Mark earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from San Francisco State University, and his Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Mark has facilitated training and guest lectures in utilizing the trans-theoretical model for change, client engagement, understanding criminogenic risk and needs, principles of case management, staff morale interventions, and vicarious trauma and self/community care. Mark has also facilitated the National Curriculum and Training Institute (NCTI) Real Colors Personality training for Probation Departments and several Behavioral Health units, as well as with the Chief Probation Officers of California (CPOC) in 2015.
As a professional with over 20 years in community service who has served as a sworn law enforcement officer and behavioral health clinician and Supervisor, Mark has a unique perspective as well as an expertise in the technologies of change and community safety.
Katie Stith has dedicated her 15-year career to public service. She has been a Coordinator of a successful County Office of Education youth substance abuse prevention coalition, a Program Director with The Boys and Girls Club, and has spent over a decade as a Deputy Probation Officer.
As a Probation Officer, Katie has conducted investigations, written court reports, and served as a respected court officer. Katie has also served on local drug treatment and mental health courts, successfully case managing and supervising probationers with substance use disorders, severe mental illness, and co-occurring disorders.
Katie is a certified facilitator of cognitive behavioral rehabilitation groups, and has been a vanguard in the implementation of evidenced based practices in probation services.
Katie is a dynamic Motivation Interviewing trainer and specializes in case planning. From initial interview to targeting interventions to matching risk, need, and probationer stage of change, Katie understands every interaction is an opportunity to engage and help an individual better their life.
Katie has a Bachelor of Arts in Family Studies from Sacramento State University. Katie is the daughter of a highly respected retired career law enforcement officer and a retired healthcare industry training specialist/webmaster. Katie’s brother is a police officer, her husband a paramedic, and her sister an educator and social justice advocate.
Katie comes from a family dedicated to public service. She is known for her professional courage, and understands the rigors of first response and the responsibility public servants have in engaging with those they serve to create and maintain healthy and safe communities.
Chris Van Orden has been a probation officer for the last 15 years. For the past five years, Chris has worked on his dream assignment with the probation department; Continuum of Care Reforms (CCR) Specialist. Chris was certified as a Child and Family Team (CFT) Facilitator in 2015 and since that time he has facilitated hundreds of CFTs for numerous families with various strengths, needs, and challenges. Chris believes the most important element of any CFT is to help the family utilize their strengths to overcome obstacles.
In addition to his work with the department, Chris is a trainer with the Chief Probation Officers of California (CPOC). Chris has collaborated with CPOC to deliver statewide trainings such as Advanced Placement Techniques, Advanced CFT Facilitation, and Successful CFT Facilitation During the Pandemic.
Chris earned his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Calpoly San Luis Obispo State University. He is in the process of earning his Master of Arts in Family Therapy from North Central University.
From his early work facilitating Real COLORS groups and NCTI groups, Chris has always been drawn to training and facilitation. Chris has a passion for helping individuals and departments understand the value of evidence-based curriculum executed to fidelity.
During trainings, Chris emphasizes the importance of creating an energetic dialogue to foster a creative and fun learning environment.
