Social Justice Checklist - Working towards a world where we all belong
Neela Chatterjee

My ideas - Your ideas - Let’s share
This presentation is light fare. I teach Beginning ESL students. I like to keep it simple. I have a checklist. Why? If my gay, racial ambiguous daughter and her transgender friends were taking my class, I would want them to feel welcomed in my class. So, let’s talk. Let’s share.
When you leave this presentation, you will have a checklist and add ideas from participants.
When you leave this presentation, perhaps the discussion will include your voice.
When you leave this presentation, perhaps we will continue to help each other feel a sense of belonging and love.

Death by a Thousand Cuts: Racelighting
Dr. Patricia Nunley and Pamela Elzie, MEd.
Child Development & Family Studies , Health Education
patricianunley@aol.com, pelzie@ccsf.edu
Racial gaslighting causes racial battle fatigue by perpetuating and normalizing a white supremacist reality that pathologizes those who resist it. This workshop will examine how racelighting impacts people of color politically, economically, socially and culturally. Racelighting causes people of color to second guess their own lived experiences with racism. This workshop will be an opportunity to consider how to interrupt racelighting in order to fully support ourselves, our fellow colleagues and our students.
