Celebrate your freedom to read by participating in Emily B. Hart-Holifield Library's Banned Books Essay Contest!
Share your voice, explore the importance of open information access, and reflect on why
every individual deserves the freedom to discover diverse ideas and perspectives.
Currently enrolled Compton College students are invited to enter!
Limit one essay per student.
Prizes
Three winners will receive a banned book and a gift card:
First Place: $100
Second Place: $75
Third Place: $50
Winning essays will be shared on the Compton College Library homepage and on this site's Winners page.

Banned Books Week is an annual event that highlights the value of free and open access to information.
