No. The bookmark design contest is open only to currently registered Compton College students. Federal Work Study students are also eligible to participate. Classified or certificated employees of Compton College are ineligible.
No. Essays may only be submitted online through the **Submit Now Link.** Essays that are delivered in person are not eligible for consideration.
Only ONE essay submission per student is accepted.
A banned book is a book that has been removed, excluded, destroyed, challenged, or otherwise restricted from access.
A challenged book is a book that a person/group has attempted to prohibit access through its removal or restriction.
Banned and challenged books may be available for loan through Compton College Library's Catalog.
If you have an account with a public library, you can also find banned and challenged books there you can borrow for free!
You can get help proofreading or brainstorming for your essay by visiting the Student Success Center (SSC).
The SSC offers in-person and online tutoring, either by scheduled appointment or walk-in.

Submissions must first meet the essay and submission requirements to qualify for judging. Qualifying submissions are then evaluated according to the provided evaluation rubric by faculty from different Compton College departments. Each judge assigns a score for each essay and all scores are totaled. Winners are then determined and ranked by the top three scores.
