What is a Board of Directors

A volunteer board of directors governs a non-profit agency. The board has responsibility for:

* Ensuring legal and fiduciary obligations are met,

* Providing organizational oversight,

* Ensuring that fundraising activities are taking place, and

* Representing the organizations interests externally as well as internally to ensure the stability and longevity of organization.
