Chequamegon Bay

Green Infrastructure

The communities of the Chequamegon Bay face water quality and quantity threats.

This site is a resource for anyone interested in getting involved in small scale Green Infrastructure projects and sustainable actions in the home.

Your effort can have a huge impact around the Bay, helping the city handle stress from large storm events and keeping the Chequamegon Bay clean.

Increased attention has been brought to Ashland’s aging water and sewer infrastructure as large rain events and sanitary sewer overflows have become more common in recent years. As part of its efforts to find solutions to these problems, the City of Ashland has partnered with the AmeriCorps program to increase outreach and engagement with Ashland residents on things they can do to reduce sanitary sewer overflows and improve water quality in Chequamegon Bay. Implementing green infrastructure is something all residents can contribute to helping keep the Bay clean.
