Hi, my name is Caylee Schneider. I am an Aunt of two beautiful little girls and one handsome little boy. I am also a writer and a designer of interfaces. I have experience in MS Word, creating a proficient table of contents, bookmarking sections of my essays, and finally hyperlinking them to the section within my table of contents. I also know how to use PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Adobe InDesign, and Canva.
Canva helped me during my fellowship with an organization called For Michigan: I created Infographics with research facts and tidbits to promote voter registration and candidates for the 2024 Presidential election. I also walked or tabled around Saginaw Valley State University's campus to promote and spread our message to register people for the election.
I currently work for TJ Maxx in Port Huron, MI, as a part-time employee. In the summer, I will continue working in multiple positions: markdowns, cashier, women's, jewelry, men's, and the backroom. Since 2022, I have learned substantially about how to socialize and work with people better to help customers or boast about the company's credit card for our managers.
Additionally, I work as a Technical Writer Intern for Cardinal Solution. I am working on a brochure with a graphic designer. I also answer emails and create social media posts for the Hunger Solution Center Expansion Project. The center houses two nonprofits: Hidden Harvest and East Side Soup Kitchen, which collaboratively work to combat food insecurity in the Great Lakes Bay Region.
So far, in my Professional and Technical writing courses, I have learned how to user-test people. This is a fundamental aspect of testing out a new website, design, or application and improving the design based on the feedback provided. Furthermore, I have comprehended the necessity of writing more concisely. People do not want the fluff and word salad we are usually taught to write in academic settings. The real world wants the skinny.
My skills include: customer service, writing, collaboration, designing, and people skills. I am also willing to learn and grow as a professional as my career takes me.
