"Inky's Had Enough"

I started this portrait on Nov 5th, while waiting for the election results to finalize. Here is Inky trying to bring up the world’s largest hairball and reflects my own discomfort this week. I have been itching to explore caricature, especially of human personalities, once I can muster the courage. I thought it would be safer to start with a friend’s cat. Does she look safe to you?

I explore the fascinating world around me. Working on-site and from real-life whenever possible, I celebrate natural and constructed forms and patterns which I find inland, on waters, in architecture, still life, and the animal kingdom. I focus on composition, color, and creative expression.

My subjects are from personal experience and celebrate the special places and creatures that inspire joy and living fully. Though my artworks are varied, a central theme is bringing the preciousness of our treasured world to the viewer by capturing nature and everyday subjects in my unique voice.
