Roles

Building Ambassadors

Either elected or appointed Building Ambassadors are the lynchpin for the success of the CRTC. Building Ambassadors ensure that teachers in their buildings are aware of our programs and encourage teacher participation. They make sure that the CRTC has a presence on the school website, share professional learning and resource opportunities at faculty meetings, ensure teachers have access to the CRTC Frontline catalog, and disseminate information distributed by the CRTC

The following are our area-building ambassadors.

Our Building Ambassadors

Association Presidents

Association Presidents elect the teacher representatives to the policy board. Since by law the policy board must be comprised of 51% teachers, this gives the local Association President an important role. Association Presidents can support Teacher Centers through contractual negotiation by supporting stipends for National Board Certified teachers. Association Presidents are asked to attend our Annual Legislative Forum in February and our Annual meeting in May

Policy Board Members

Policy board members oversee the center. The center director works at the discretion of the board. The policy board determines how funds are to be spent, through a needs evaluation process and evaluates the effectiveness of programs.

Senior Associates

Retired teachers that would like to continue to have an actively supportive role can contact the CRTC about becoming a Senior Associates. Senior associates serve in both voluntary and advisory roles.
