On your "About Me" page, you should include a photo or a few photos of yourself and describe yourself. You can draw from the introduction you did for this course if you'd like. Or you can start from scratch.
I teach writing courses in the English Department and direct the Reading and Writing Center and the Writing Across the Curriculum Program. I have a 13-year-old son, a cat, and live in Northampton, MA. I started at Westfield in 2009 and love many aspects of my job, including working one-on-one with students on their writing, meeting with other faculty to discuss pressing issues such as generative AI, and taking students to conferences.
Outside of work, one of my favorite ways to spend time is reading novels while warm, either in front of a fire in my wood stove or on the beach where I grew up in Marshfield or drinking tea and eating chocolate. (I guess I'm pretty on brand for an English professor.) I also love to hula hoop, do classes at the local YMCA, play racquetball with my son, and hike with anyone who will join me but especially my partner, who lives in Vermont.
