Identify shortfalls in the South Dakota Wildlife Damage Management program (location of staff stations, amount of damage staff, hotspots locations, etc.) through identifying drive times and hotspot locations using the 'Network Analysis Toolbox' available through ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap (Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc., Redlands, CA, USA). Show effectiveness or ineffectiveness of network analysis in respect to wildlife management program assessment and evaluation.
I am using the Wildlife Society Bulletin for formatting reference. They accept different kinds of subject matter into their journal, one of them being 'Tools and Technology' which is where I believe my manuscript would fall under.
Here is their description of manuscripts for 'Tools and Technologies'
Tools and Technology papers are typically brief and describe new techniques and technology or modifications of well-known techniques that may be of use to managers. Tools and Technology papers do not have Management Implications sections.
The full guidelines for this journal can be found here.
Some things to note:
I used unpublished internal data for my project and the citation section of the above guideline said not to put that under the 'Literature Cited' section and to instead cite in-text with the proper format provided by the guidelines.
I did not have anything to put in an appendix so I didn't add an appendix heading or section.
My presentation will be done using a PowerPoint presentation with a voiceover explaining the figures on the slides as I go through them. I did not go into the detail of Network Analysis that I did in the manuscript, but may once I do a couple takes of my presentation and see what the length is like.
The manuscript is completely done except for another couple edit sessions as I receive feedback.
The PowerPoint has been created and speaker notes written into it.
