Standard 4 Rationale
What I did: This artifact is a website that I made containing a bunch of my views on teaching. The website was made through the online website design tool WIX. This was a product of an assignment that was given to me in my general methods class. It contains my views on things like diversity, motivation, rules/expectations, rewards/consequences, classroom procedures, and instructional styles.
Connection to the IPTS standard: This artifact is import because it shows how I may have similar or differing views from an employer. One thing that is very clear based on the website is that I view standard 4j, creates a safe and healthy environment that maximizes student learning, in very high regard. One of the things that I am very concerned about is student safety and how they are learning in the classroom. I will be the first person to speak up and punish anyone who might be bulling a student based for their race, religion, sexuality, etc.
What I learned: This artifact was very important to me because, before this project, I have never really put my feelings about certain things onto paper. This really helped to show me how I really felt about certain subjects. When it comes to classroom management specifically I have realized that I had not had a fully fleshed out idea of how I would run my classroom. As this artifact shows, I have now fully thought these things out. I am very happy that I was assigned a project like this because, even if the website maker was a little tedious to use, I believe that I have a better idea of how I want to run my classroom when I start to teach.
