Actually, I really wanted to thank you for being in the room and being part of the lesson today. It's not always the case when I do a lesson that the teacher is so engaged. I appreciate it and so do the kids.
Also, it feels like you have been in that room since August. I realize you worked with them before with robots, but it's deeper than that. You are great with kids. I'm glad you are in the education profession. I'm excited for more poetry lessons in 4CH!
Thanks! Really.
Maureen Carpenter, Literacy Coordinator, Anglo-American School of Moscow
"I was lucky enough to pay a short visit to yesterday's demo (Discover Egham's iPads-parent event). I was hugely impressed! Well done to all concerned."
Jeremy Lewis, Director, ACS Egham International School
"Thank you so much for the Cloud Camp on Saturday, it was a wonderful event that was beautifully organised and set up by you. It gave people a whole array of opportunities and really helped people like me who needed lots of basics and help. It was lovely to have something so prestigious at our school which was down to you stepping forward and putting so much work into it all."
Cindy Blanes, Lower School Principal, ACS Egham International School
"A big shout out to Cary for yesterday's meeting is due as far as I'm concerned! It was so innovative to see the boys (Geek Squad) working alongside us as teachers themselves and to also have the confidence to speak in front of a group of teachers. And all of us learning from each other in such an engaging way- and the biscuits were great too. Thanks Cary!"
Jude Vaughan, Teacher, ACS Egham International School
So fun to see your kids working together. The grade 2ers I saw were so serious. One little boy told his partner, "That's not really a contradiction. That's kind of a small contradiction."
I think keep it going if you can. Have them learn them together!
Maureen Carpenter, Anglo-American School of Moscow
I think that was a fantastic collaboration!
Beth Klosinski, Anglo-American School of Moscow
"I also wanted to thank you for being so flexible and open to our unit needs in this Sharing the Planet unit, the electronic presentations are a great success for a first time and would not have been so fun and versatile if we had not had time to learn about the apps. Book Creator, Morpho, Explain Everything, and Inspiration were really useful in this unit. Thanks again."
Antje Connolly, Teacher, ACS Egham International School
"I wanted to thank you again for sponsoring geek squad - it has been such a fabulous experience for my son. Thanks again for making his world so much brighter - you are a very gifted teacher and excellent role model!"
Sarah Booker, Parent, ACS Egham International School
You were amazing! My son raved about you from Day 1! And we were tremendously impressed with the progress he made! We felt like he was maturing and taking new responsibility for his own learning on what was virtually a daily basis.
From your setup of the classroom to your approach to getting the kids to learn to reflect on their own strengths/weaknesses and organize their tasks and learning in a fashion designed to best align with their goals and progress, we were very impressed and excited by what was going on in the classroom.
This was all especially impressive given that we realize that you were not originally planning to take over the class but had to step in at the last minute. You really represent the best of this wonderful school! We count our son (and ourselves) lucky that you took over the class!
Heather and Mike Byrnes, Parent, Anglo-American School of Moscow
"I owe you a sincere thank-you for the thought you put into your reply. I am filled with gratitude that our boys are surrounded by intelligent, modern and sensible mentors at ACS and I consider the work that you do in the IT department as absolutely vital to their education. My e-mail, questions and Sam's issue are reminders of this yet again."
Kate Griffith, Parent, ACS Egham International School
"John is so excited about the freedom of choices that you are providing for the children - he is so thrilled to be able to make decisions about his own learning.
"I love it! I'm going to try to work really hard so that we can keep doing it this way, mom. It is the best idea - you should do it with your kids. G4 is a really good year, mom. First, my teacher has a baby, and now my new teacher is giving us so many choices!"
Amber Taylor, Parent, Anglo-American School of Moscow
"I just saw the speaker feedbacks (from the European Google Apps for Education Summit) and yours was amazeballs!! We want you :) [for more events]."
Katka Kugla, Apps Events Producer
"I would like to call together a meeting with you and the Cobham LS IT division. I would also like to invite the Cobham IT coordinator to get a short presentation a QA session on how you are running the LS IT Lab for G1 to G4 students. I would like Cobham to consider adopting the method for managing the computer logins for the students as it seems to me that your setup is working very well at Egham."
