The LIT Studio is the Elementary Maker/Design studio that I built and implemented at Carol Morgan. It is a work in progress to introduce the Design Thinking Cycle to the elementary and find ways to make connections to the curriculum. As with Studio 4 we have been working hard to make sure that student voice is used to implement and co-design this space.
Studio 4 was the Elementary Maker/Design studio that I built and implemented at the Anglo-American School of Moscow. It was a work in progress because we wanted to get it right and we wanted to have student input. Each time a group of students was in the space we asked for feedback so that we could better develop the space for kids.
This is a sample of a coaching conversation that I had as part of our coaches group. We documented coaching conversations in order to learn and receive feedback from each other.
In the 2018-2019 school year I returned to the classroom for 4 months. This is the reflection of one of the students from that classroom.
At the end of the 2018-2019 school year I returned to the classroom for 3 months. This link is to the class website that I designed and maintained with the help of the students.

Lab redesign at ACS Egham International School. The focus of the redesign was to create a space that could be used in multiple ways. The furniture was purchased so that it could be easily and quickly rearranged to allow for felxible use of the space.
Grade Two lesson at ACS Egham International School introducing the ChatterPix Kids app. This was the first time that the students had used the app, which was going to be used for further lessons during their unit of study.
My after school club the Geek Squad went to the local care home to show the residents how they used their iPads at school. We tried to make it to the home at least twice a year.
The focus of this lesson is to teach problems solving and critical thinking through the skills of coding. The grade two students were doing a unit focusing on signs and symbols. For this lesson they developed their own symbol language to tell the "computer" how to move their legos. Then they created a code. The "computers" or teachers tried out their code to see how successful they were.
The most fantastic part of this lesson was that one of the boys had almost no English and this was one of the first IT lessons that he was able to fully participate in.
