In this project each partner had to research a different place outside of the United States. Putting our research in a word document we had to summarize each of our research and collaborate to make a powerpoint to compare each of our two locations. I ended up picking Italy and its capital Rome, and my partner ended up picking Argentina and its capital Beunos Aires.
Some interesting facts I found in my research was
Rome is over 2,000 years old
The first ever bank was started in Italy
Italy is the world largest wine producer
Completing this project, I learned that word makes you go to excel to put in data when you make a chart, I had to make two charts for the demographics part of my research. I also learned that powerpoint has many stock photos i have never used before I used a slide in my powerpoint. Here is a photo of one of my powerpoint slides.
On, the collaboration effort it was a struggle because me and my partner had pictures that represented both of our countries but we needed to find a way tp make it look aesthetic for presentation purposes. Then we learned how word has a "designer" function which allows powerpoint to automatically formats the slide with the pictures included to make the slide look better presentation wise, this function worked wonders in making our slides stick out and showed some creativity on our part. I also learned how extensive the charts are on powerpoint. The have charts like hierarchies and charts that resemble family trees and I never knew they had that so it was nice knowing that although I didn't use them for this project that they are there for me to possibly use in the future.
