- Gather the materials
- Create the solutions with different ratios of vinegar and water. Place 50 mL of pure vinegar (3 pH), 50 mL of a ratio of 1:10 of vinegar to water (4 pH), 50 mL of a ratio of a 1:20 of vinegar to water (5 pH), and pure water (7 pH) in different beakers. Test the pH levels by using pH test strips.
- Shed the carrots into small carrots pieces using the grader
4. Place test tubes into test tube rack
- Use the tape & permanent marker to label test tubes 1-4
5. Grab the digital scale
- Turn it on
- Place Weighing dish on scale and zero it
6. Measure 2 Grams of carrots using the spatula
- Place 2 grams into each test tube using the glass mixing rod to push down the carrots
7. Put 20 drops of the vinegar into test tube 1-3 using the dropper pipet
- Test Tube 1: 20 drops of pH 3
- Test Tube 2: 20 drops of pH 4
- Test Tube 3: 20 drops of pH 5
8. Put 20 drops of water into test tube 4
9. Put 3 ml of Hydrogen Peroxide into each test tube using the graduated cylinder
10. Measure how high the bubbles go using the ruler
11. Clean up the materials
- Be sure to scrub the test tubes with the test tube scrubber
12. Write the lab report
