My passion for accessibility and inclusion began at age 13 when I met Deaf friends and learned American Sign Language (ASL) from the Deaf community. I did not want my Deaf friends to be excluded from communication, so I was determined to become an interpreter. I achieved that goal and started interpreting full time at Texas Tech University!
At Texas Tech, my passion expanded to include digital accessibility. I learned HTML/CSS code and researched WCAG to make websites and documents accessible for Student Disability Services and the TECHniques Center.
Later, at Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind I created blended and asynchronous English Language Arts (ELA) courses and materials in Canvas and learned to edit videos in Adobe Premiere Pro for a three-year-long curriculum translation project. Having a foundation in pedagogy and a newfound interest in andragogy, I pursued a professional certificate from the University of Washington in E-Learning Instructional Design and created trainings for the faculty using Articulate Storyline and Rise 360.
I then worked as a Digital Curriculum Developer for Great Minds with a focus on ELA and assessment. In that role I authored and edited PowerPoint slides, alt text, audio descriptions, and closed captions. I also used Camtasia to create training videos to support onboarding for colleagues who joined the team.
Now, I am excited to support projects for ASL at Home as an Instructional Designer. My focus is on creating courses in Canvas using best practices in learning theory for adult learners that are meaningful and performance-based.
As a part of your team, I can use the skills and knowledge I have gained to analyze needs, design accessible learning experiences, and evaluate their impact.

I have extensive experience as an interpreter, so I can record and edit videos in American Sign Language for Deaf learners. This achieves AAA WCAG conformance and demonstrates inclusivity to appeal to a wider customer base.
I can create accessible digital materials to reduce legal risk of non-compliance. Designing for accessibility from the start is less expensive than remediating later. It also strengthens reputation and improves learner satisfaction.
I am organized and prioritize tasks. I have worked ahead to finish projects a week to a month ahead of deadline, without compromising quality. This supports project management and reduces budget expenses.
Let's create inclusive learning experiences together!
