March of 2021
Hello,
Thanks for your visit. I began making webpages with my collection of poems and meaningful stories in December of 1998, without knowing how to do any of it. As you know, with the help of the Internet, you can teach yourself a lot of things. I did it the hard way, learning HTML, but now it's so much easier. You can just copy and paste your content into a text box. However, I haven't figured out how to add clipart as I did with the other web hosts. I've added memorial pages and tribute pages for my family since then, and kept adding things for quite a few years. I became more interested in my Ancestry, so I haven't made any new pages for quite some time, several years in fact. I started with Geocities and when that was closed, I moved everything to Webs, always opting for the "free" plan since this is just a hobby. When they decided to start charging, I picked up and moved again to "Sites" at Google. It's been very easy to rebuild my pages here. I've included some family genealogy and cemetery listings for my area also. Hope you enjoy looking around!

GRATITUDE
I have so much to be thankful for and we are instructed in the "Good Book" to express that gratitude to God. In Phillipians 4:6 we are told to "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."
Michael J. Fox wrote in his book, “No Time Like the Future: An Optimist Considers Mortality,”: “Optimism is really rooted in gratitude,” Fox said. “Optimism is sustainable when you keep coming back to gratitude, and what follows from that is acceptance. Accepting that this thing has happened, and you accept it for what it is. It doesn’t mean that you can’t endeavor to change. It doesn’t mean you have to accept it as a punishment or a penance, but just put it in its proper place. Then see how much the rest of your life you have to thrive in, and then you can move on.”
Kyle Carpenter writes in his book, “You Are Worth It, Building a Life Worth Fighting For,”: “The healing power of saying thank you is immense; I believe this with every ounce of my being. Whether to a teacher or a parent or a mentor or a friend or a pastor or a health-care provider or a quiet supporter or an entire community, there is freedom that comes with expressing appreciation. It is acknowledging their role in the progress you’ve made from “there” to “here,” whatever that may look like for you. It closes the loop.”
Again, Kyle writes: “Gratitude, I’ve come to learn, is one of the most important parts of becoming a whole person and building a life of significance. Gratitude requires wisdom to recognize the roles of others; it requires humility to admit you couldn’t have done it alone; it requires strength to be able to give part of yourself back to someone and know there is still enough of you left to thrive; and it requires inner peace to be able to say, “What you did for me helped create a life I am glad to call mine.”
"Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His mercy endures forever!” Psalm 107:1
