I’m a qualified integrative counsellor based in Seaham, supporting clients across County Durham, Sunderland and the wider UK through online and text‑based counselling. My approach is gentle, steady and centred around you — your pace, your needs, your way of communicating.
How I workI begin from a person‑centred foundation, which means I aim to really see you — the whole of you — and follow your lead. Alongside this, I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities, bringing in different ideas or techniques only when they feel supportive of what you’re exploring. You don’t need to know any theory or arrive with the “right” words. We simply begin where you are.
A space that honours your paceMany people find counselling easier when they have time to think and process before replying. I specialise in text‑based counselling (email and SMS), which can be especially helpful for neurodivergent people or anyone who feels pressured in face‑to‑face conversations. Writing can offer clarity, calm, and the freedom to express yourself without being rushed.
What you can expectI won’t judge you or tell you what to do. I will listen — really listen — and help you explore what’s happening in your life with compassion and curiosity. There is no limit to the number of sessions you can have, so you’re free to move at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
ConfidentialityEverything we discuss is confidential, except in a few specific circumstances where I may need to act to keep you or someone else safe. These include situations where:
you share that you or someone else is at immediate risk of harm
you disclose involvement in money laundering or drug trafficking
you disclose involvement in terrorism
If any of these situations arise, we would talk about it together.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Counselling, am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), am fully insured, and am GDPR/ICO compliant.
