For the purposes of this assignment, the presentation was on Articulet360 and its application Rise360. The main objective for the learning session was to give a quick peek of the digital tools, since there was given only ten minutes to present. Firstly, it was important to give an introduction of myself to the “students”, followed by the learning objectives that were going to be covered on the session. These had to be attainable, because of the time limitations.
To maintain the students’ attention, I decided to use Canva, an online resource for animated (transitions and animated images) presentations and I chose one of its templates. First, I had to design a storyboard, to include three learning outcomes, the information I wanted to share and graphics to support, according to time constrictions.
For a successful facilitated session, it is important for the audience to participate actively. For that reason, I included two moments to activate their participation skills. The first one was just a simple open question if they have used the tool before. Unfortunately, I did not have time to run a final survey made through Mentimeter, to measure the number of students that would eventually use Articulate in the future.
The facilitation had a positive outcome, as people was open to participate and the information had a smooth flow. Finally, I showed students how I created a lesson using Rise360, so they could understand better its application. After the session, students were grateful of my session and were interested in using Articulate 360 in the future. It would have been ideal to have more time to practice together on how to start a new lesson, also to have more time to answer their questions and run a quick survey or even a “test” to students to evaluate how well they know Articulate 360 after the session.
