Emerging Leadership Goals
Lead professional development workshop Fall 2026: “SESEBA Toolkit – Low-cost Tech Tools for Bilingual Preschool Classrooms” at my school.
Volunteer reviewer for NJAEYC and NJCEC conference proposals.
Join ISTE Early Learning Network.
My research agenda centers on creating inclusive, technology-enhanced learning environments for emergent bilinguals in early childhood, grounded in my Bolivian Quechua heritage and culturally sustaining practices.
Primary Research Focus: The SESEBA Framework
My current work applies NIEER's Self-Evaluation of Supports for Emergent Bilingual Acquisition (SESEBA) to integrate three domains:
Early Literacy in English and home languages
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) – belonging, self-regulation, well-being
Inclusive Educational Technology – video self-reflection, interactive audio, multilingual digital storytelling
Current Projects:
Empowering Emergent Bilinguals: Integrating EdTech, SEL, and Early Literacy through the SESEBA Framework – Conference proposals submitted to RMECC 2027 (ID 19336) and NJCEC Spring 2027 with co-author Gloria Gallegos.
Future Research Questions:
How can age-appropriate EdTech preserve home language while boosting English early literacy?
How does video self-reflection support self-regulation and identity for emergent bilinguals?
How can the SESEBA framework guide teachers to evaluate and enhance scaffolding?
Methodology: Qualitative action research, classroom-based design, culturally responsive pedagogy.
Long-term Goal: Publish SESEBA toolkit and 2 peer-reviewed articles before graduation (target: AERA, ISTE, NAEYC journals).
