A website about my great uncle Carl Bruns who was persecuted and killed by the Nazis.

After scanning the small black and white photographs I colorized them. This makes them all more vivid.  The lives of Carl, Otto and Heinz come much closer to us.

Ceremony of Remembrance for the Victims of National Socialism,

Bundestag President Bärbel Bas opened the Ceremony of Remembrance at 10.00 a.m. with a speech. She then gave the floor to the Holocaust survivor Rozette Kats, who gave a commemorative speech, followed by Klaus Schirdewahn, who spoke to the plenary as a representative of the queer community. Actors Jannik Schümann and Maren Kroymann also read texts by two victims, whose life stories provide examples of the persecution of sexual minorities under National Socialism.
