Dublin Airport to NUIG by bus
Bus services from Dublin Airport to Galway City are operated by Citylink, Aircoach and GoBus. Buses depart from outside Terminal 1. The journey time is approximately 3 hours depending on the service provider.
From the city centre, you can walk to the University (approximately 20 minutes), take a taxi or take the No.4 Bus in the direction of Newcastle from Eyre Square.
Dublin Airport to NUIG by car
From Dublin Airport, continue onto the M50 southbound. At junction 7, exit to the N4 (signs for Sligo). Continue onto M4 (signs for Sligo). At junction 11, exit onto M6 towards Galway and follow signs for Galway. Arrive at roundabout at end of M6. Take the second exit at this roundabout. From here follow signs for Clifden. This will take you on a series of dual carriageways around the city. Cross the Quincentennary bridge (a long dual-carriageway bridge over the River Corrib) and turn left at the traffic lights towards Lower Salthill. Look out for a University symbol on the signage. Continue on until the next traffic lights, and turn left into the Newcastle Road entrance to the University.
Dublin City to NUIG by train
A direct train service from Dublin Airport to Galway is not available. However, a train service runs from Heuston Station in Dublin City to Galway City. Information on this service can be found here.
The Dublin Express bus route 782 is the easiest way to get to Heuston Station from Dublin Airport. This service stops outside Heuston station and runs every 30 minutes during the day, departing from Terminal 1 at Dublin Airport.
From Galway City Centre, you can walk to the University (approximately 20 minutes), take a taxi or take the No.4 Bus in the direction of Newcastle from Eyre Square.
