Cardio-Sync is a remote-testing medical kit that utilizes various Arduino biosensors to monitor cardiovascular health data, as well as artificial intelligence to communicate the patient's data to the physician's Emergency Medical Records (EMR).
Cardio-Sync involves four pieces of easily used medical equipment to track data relating to a patient's cardiovascular health. The process is painless and simple thanks to the AI component which automatically records the data, from the Arduino, into the app. As well, the kit can be used as frequently as recommended by the patient's medical professional to limit the time spent in the doctor's office. The portability of the kit also permits patients to travel and test themselves, alleviating any stress or concern.
Through the use of API, the data is promptly and smoothly relayed back to the doctor's EMR system to ensure that they are continuously updated on the patient's health. In this manner, the doctors are able to efficiently address any of the patient's concerns and have access to more extensive data to refer back to. Withal, this also allows doctors to optimize their time by reducing the amount of clinical visits and allowing them to focus on high-risk patients in need of urgent-care.
The AI component of the Cardio-Sync app is also programmed to identify any severe concerns in the patient's health by referencing the parameters for each test - provided by the doctor (Ex: min/max heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels & weight). If a patient were to exceed these parameters, the patient's emergency contact list would be contacted, allowing them receive quick support from friends and family. In addition to medical assistance from the hospital, if requested. It is also important to note that any emergency occurrences would be recorded under the patient's file and reported to the EMR inbox for the doctor.
In addition, Cardio-Sync can serve as a preventive care system by aiding in the early detection of cardiovascular irregularities. Specifically, doctors can use the extensive data to perform further analysis and deduce critical conclusions before the problem has escalated to a more concerning state (Ex: diagnosis of heart failure or stroke). This procedure also becomes more efficient due to the app's ability to organize the data into relevant charts and graphs which demonstrate the patient's data over a span of time.
Last but not least, this data collection and analysis can benefit society on a much broader scale. Meaning that the data from patients (with consent) can be used to identify patterns in cardiovascular health among certain groups of people. (Ex: gender, ethnic background, height, weight, etc.)
