By: Aisha Sattar
Have you ever experienced art block or have boredom got in the way of an awesome painting? Well, say no more, here are three pieces of art you can recreate or simply use for inspiration! Each painting was made by your peers and includes a breakdown of what it is about, what art materials were used, and what the inspiration to make it was.
Made by Khadeja AL-Ahmed
In an interview with Khadeja, I was informed that her inspiration to make this drawing was Claude Monet’s artwork which was full of florals and springtime themed artwork. The art materials that she used were water-colored pencils, regular-colored pencils for more details, a blending tool, and white charcoal for highlights. The artwork is about a swamp full of bloomed lilies, lily pads and light reflecting of certain angels. The colors are blended into a gradient with the white charcoal adding highlights which allows the viewer to see the time of day the drawing is taking place.
Made by an Anonymous artist
In an interview with the artist of the painting above she said that her inspiration was the flowers in her garden at home. She made two flowers together, one of which is a rose, and one is a sunflower. The art materials that she used were watercolor paint and watercolor pencils to add extra pencils. The painting is simple and has a long green stem that uses dark green and light green for contrast between shadows and light.

The inspiration for this painting is Easter and the celebrations for it, I had been seeing lots of Easter decorations and used that inspiration to make a painting about it. In this painting, it is a basket full of colorful Easter eggs on a warm, welcoming, sunny day. The basket is placed in a field of bright flowers in the early afternoon. The art materials used for this painting were watercolor paint, regular-colored paintings, and white charcoal. The painting is made to show how beautiful spring days can look.
