**During the academic school year (for the Western U.S.), there is likely to be reduced improvement or additions to this site
We hope that anyone, entomologists and people simply trying to figure out what kind of carabid, zoph, or teneb they have found, may be able to use this site, for which reason we have included a mixture of photos, partially technical descriptions, and additional information about the species so that we can hopefully cover the needs of as many people as possible.
ATTENTION:
This carabid, zopherid, and tenebrionid beetle identification site is only around 35% completed, and we are still heavily in the editing process, as one may see when going through many of the incomplete pages. Please be patient and understanding as we steadily edit and enter additional pages and information, if you have any information regarding species pages where data gaps are present, we would appreciate it greatly if you would be willing to email us the information which may be used to fill these gaps. For contact details, click on the "About" icon in the top right corner of this site.
This website also looks much better on a computer screen rather than a small phone screen.
If you are here to identify Amphidorini (desert stink beetles/pinacate beetles) the key page found on the page for the tribe may warrant better results, as most of the species pages are incomplete.
HELP WANTED: ANY PERSONS WITH (preferably) PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE IN IDENTIFYING THESE FOLLOWING CARABIDAE SUBFAMILIES, PLEASE CONTACT US IF YOU WOULD BE INTERESTED IN WORKING WITH US TO FILL OUT PAGES FOR SAID GROUPS. see below--
-Subfamily Rhysodinae
-Subfamily Elaphrinae
-Subfamily Cicindelidae
-Various genera and species within a handful of the subfamilies.
If you are interested, please email us using the, but cc both email addresses listed in the 'About' section, that way we may eliminate any potential confusion. Presently we have a fair amount of reference zopherid specimens to go off of, around 650 carabid species to go off of, and donations with additional species coming in to us every few months via donations and exchanges.
Kind regards,
Connor, Kuoni, and Carlos
